About the Workshop
Join Danielle Murphy (bio), LCSW SEP, for the second and final event in a series of two half-day workshops, on May 3 and May 24, focused on somatic healing for social and historical trauma and internalized oppression. Murphy is a psychotherapist with her own private practice in New York City. She has been working with the resolution of traumatic stress for more than ten years.

This presentation explores the concept of internalized oppression. Participants will first learn how oppressive constructs become internalized. They will then learn common internalized attitudes, beliefs and behaviors that come from oppressive roots as well as interventions that support a client to externalize these damaging constructs so that a client can have more agency to live a more complete and full life.
