The disproportionate toll of COVID-19 on communities of color has highlighted the long-standing systemic inequities that impact the health and well-being of our nation’s racial and ethnic minority populations. In this episode of Social Impact LIVE, host Richard Hara (bio) sits down with three of our MSW students—Ashley Yerim ChoiAlison Chou, and Regina Honorat—who were selected by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) to receive special training as future clinicians of color, in order to better serve the mental health needs of in order to better serve the mental health needs of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. They will talk about their experience as CSWE Master’s Minority Fellows, why they think centering BIPOC groups is so important for the social work field, and how they plan to integrate what they’re learning into their social work careers.
