Centuries of systemic racism against America’s Black community have left a legacy in the health care sector, which has contributed to the mistrust many feel towards the COVID-19 vaccine. In this episode of Social Impact LIVE, host Richard Hara (bio) sits down with two Columbia University research scientists, Anindita Dasgupta (bio) and Dawn Goddard-Eckrich (bio), to discuss racial disparities in vaccine distribution. They will address the particular example of pregnant Black women: how can, and should, the reproductive health sector ensure they have access to information they will need for making appropriate vaccine choices?
