About the Event
Due to gender bias, universal health coverage programs, while they may increase the number of women with access to healthcare, could still fail to reduce gender inequalities unless actions are taken to specifically target females. Stanford development economist Pascaline Dupas (bio) has tested this hypothesis using data on over 4 million hospital visits under a government health insurance program that entitles 46 million poor individuals to free hospital care in Rajasthan, India. At this CPRC seminar, she will discuss the striking gender disparities her research group has documented, and suggest policies to help close this gender gap. More details HERE.
