About the Event
It is well known that bringing up a child with with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can be stressful. But less well known is the special needs parents of ASD children have, and how these needs might differ across cultures. At this China Center lecture, special education and autism specialist Hsu-Min Chiang (bio) will share the findings of her study focusing on the needs of Chinese parents of children with ASD in the United States, Macau, and Taiwan. She will focus on differences between Chinese American parents and non-American Chinese parents in the level of support services.
