School Social Workers can play an integral role in the positive academic outcome of children, but what does it take? What are the tools social workers need to play this leading role? In its fourth year, the School Social Work Conference will examine how social workers who are also social justice leaders can make an impact at the individual, community, and political level inside and outside the school system. Workshops will take a critical look at the disparities in education in New York City, how race and class play a role in our work, and what tools we need to navigate these multi-layered issues and systems and affect change. This conference will provide space for reflexivity, tools and skill building, peer networking, and connections to resources for doing great work.
