Queer Caucus

The Queer Caucus of the Columbia School of Social Work seeks to promote the rights and visibility of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex and Unlabeled (LGBTQIU+) individuals and their allies through education, community action, policy change and advocacy. Its aim is to increase the strength of its members through events, open forums, and outreach. Through these and other actions, our hope is to create a welcoming and supportive space to address issues relating to social justice, human rights, legal protections, and representation. We reflect upon intersectionality and collaborate with members of the Columbia community to understand how queer issues overlap with those of other groups. Most importantly, our mission is to empower and amplify student voices.

Creating a welcoming space in which to foster camaraderie amongst lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, and unlabeled (LGBTQQIU) students and their allies.
