The Hall of Fame honors the alumni of the Columbia University School of Social Work who have made outstanding contributions to the theory and/or practice of social work and who, by their example, have added distinction to the social work profession. Go to list of Hall of Fame members.
All alumni are welcome to nominate other alumni for this honor, though certain restrictions apply to who can be nominated (see FAQ below).
Nominees must have obtained their CSSW degree program at least 15 years prior to the year of nomination. Graduates from all fields of practice will receive full consideration in the nomination process. All nominations are confidential.
All nominations must be received before December 31st for consideration in the following year’s process. If you choose to mail or fax in the nomination rather than fill out the online form, your application must be typed, double-spaced, and not exceed three pages. NOTE: CVs and resumes only will not be accepted.
Completed applications can be mailed to: Hall of Fame Committee, CSSW Alumni Association, 1255 Amsterdam Avenue, Suite 629, New York, NY 10027. You may also fax your nomination to 212-851-2373 or send via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Due to the high volume of applications, the Committee is unable to keep an application longer than two years. If your nominee is not selected for the Hall of Fame during that time, it is acceptable to re-nominate your choice. If you are re-nominating your candidate, please provide the Committee with updated information.
